The Big OH: A Flatiron penthouse that’s as upscale as it is unstuffy

Luxury Listings

On West 20th Street, tucked neatly between a bar and a parking garage, and across the street from the trendy workout spot Shadowbox NYC, is a new condo building at 21 West 20th Street called — appropriately — 21W20.

The 15-story building has a distinctive façade of blackened steel, glass and stone that was designed by architects Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Gale International.

According to The Real Deal, the 13-unit tower has some of the widest penthouses in the city, spanning some 100 feet across, and for the latest installment of our Big Open House series, LLNYC got to tour one. We were led by Stan Gale Jr., president of Gale International, and David Mann, the founding partner of MR Architecture + Decor, who is responsible for the building’s swanky interiors.
